Sub-transonic Wind Tunnel

FD-12 is a Tri-sonic wind tunnel which is blow down type with Mach number from 0.3 to 4.0. The test section is 1.2m×1.2m. The length of the sub-transonic section is 3.8m while the length of the supersonic section is 2.4m. The flow field meets international standard.

The main tests in FD-12 are as following: force measurement and rolling characteristics test, jet interference test, stage separation and multi-body interference, Magnus effect test, hinge moment measurement, dynamic and unsteady aerodynamic characteristics test, Intake test, free flight model test, flow pattern and vortex visualization test.
